Slowly I´m getting in love with Netlabels. I concentrated on looking for Dub music and was quite happy with the results.

Afterbeat is a Netlabel from Poland. Half of their releases is Roots-Dub the other half more electronical orientated.

"Id.eology - Label for individual music and visuals" was founded in 2000 and is based in Berlin and Köln, Germany. You definitely feel that they are working since 7 years on that project, lots of releases, great artists and music and a wide range of musical genres. For Dub check out the many releases by Authist & Dub Oneand Disrupt.

Jahtari is a label that is totally concentrated on dub. As they say they are making "digital labtop reggae"but I think the sound they do sounds much better than this. Definitely check it out if you like deep dub with a hint of hip hop beats.

If you´re interested in Netlabels and want to find more or different music go to the "Netlabel Catalogue". Tons of Netlabels wait there to be discovered, it takes some time but it is worthwhile.

While editing the Snowboardmovie "Snapshot" I had a look around for animated Typography. I made a little collection of my favorites here.

There are new and interesting ways of finding pictures in the internet.

One site is "www.ffffound.com". Start with a picture you like and "FFFFOUND" will show you more pictures marked by different members that you could like. Really interesting if you´re a member but also just to browse through. They say: "FFFFOUND! is a web service that not only allows the users to post and share their favorite images found on the web, but also dynamically recommends each user's tastes and interests for an inspirational image-bookmarking experience!!" Right now the site is still Beta and it´s not possible to register.
Hopefully that will change soon.

"Retrievr" is very interesting, too. Find Pictures by drawing or uploading pictures. Sometimes the results are quite good sometimes they are not but they are still working on that project and it´s already fun using it. The Developers say: "Retrievr lets you find flickr images by drawing rough sketches of them. Finding images on Flickr is mostly textual (tags, keywords) or social (contacts, friends, groups). Retrievr is, like images, visual. At the same time it's our testbed for image retrieval algorithms, so that when you add an image to a page in System One, it gets you the potentially most similar pictures back in realtime."

Another way is finding pictures by choosing their main color. Try the "Flickr Color Selectr".

Check Episode 2 "United by Fate" by Globe here for free download. You will see a Minipark inside a House, solid skating by the Globe Crew and Chris Haslam going crazy. If you want to know more about Chris, you should definitely check these clips on "Epicly Later´d", too.

Another Video I´m looking forward to is "Fully Flared" by Lakai. Check the Trailers and the "Vault Clip I" here. Let´s see what they make out of these multi-angle shots. Video will come out November 16.

I was searching for good but free music for the last month. It is a little bit hard to find good stuff but if you´re patient you could find little gems like these:

"UPITUP (up it up!) is a young and sexy record label that’s based in Rome (Italy), Stuttgart (Germany) and Liverpool (UK). In a world with an over-nourished music industry and its well-rehearsed production machinery, we’ve been releasing free music over the web since March 2003 - just because we can. Doing asides better than what they do for living is our way of stating that a system of copyright, audience economics and marketing strategies is obsolete and just sucks arse." - Text taken from their Website.

Hard to describe their music, what first comes to my mind is the word freaky, but you can hear that they love what they´re doing and it´s definitely worth to open your ears for the unique world of Upitup Records.

"Tim Fite" is doing intelligent good Hip Hop Music...for free, that´s hard to find. He´s signed on "Anti- Records" together with big names like "Blackalicious" or "Tom Waits" but he´s giving away his new Album "Over the counter culture" for free. Get it here.

"Downliners Sekt" make music between Electronica, IDM and Progressive. As they say they are "Bored as fuck with the music industry" so it´s not hard to say why they chose to produce free music. I really love their album "Statement of Purpose". It is a solid piece of good music that is hard to find generally, not only for free. So don´t wait and get it here.

Thats nice! Download high resolution pics, print them, use them as a wallpaper or just have a closer look to these really nice works of illustration! www.mulheresbarbadas.com

There is a great exhibition called "Planet Prozess" in Berlin. It already started on the 20th of Juli but it´s still on till 19th of August and takes place at the Senatsreservenspeicher in Berlin-Kreuzberg. "In the beginning, the city was without form and void. Then the streets became a gallery, the gaps filled up with art and life: Over 21 days we will create an exhibition about Street Art which will develop along with the city itself. PLANET PROZESS invites everybody to take part in this dynamic exhibition and to celebrate the finale." - taken from the Planet Prozess Website. More pictures at Flickr.

For the last 6 weeks I´ve been to Indonesia for surfing. It was a really good trip and because I was filming a little you can find a new clip here soon! By then check some Pics here. For the next month I´m working on editing the Snowboardmovie "Snapshot" together with two Austrian Guys. The video will be publicized with the upcoming Playboard Photoissue.

While being away the first issue (Number 0 - a sample issue) of the new Austrian Snowboardmag "Sixtynine Magazine" has been finished...and luckily a friend brought me one to Indonesia. I´m quite impressed by the quality and content and hope for a good start and a long life for that project. Number 1 will be sold all over Austria in October 2007.

Basanostra Productions has been redesigned during the last month. First of all I´m trying to post everything in english now and together with the new design there are some new features like the Blog and the possibility to post comments.

There are also some fresh pics in the "photography" section. I found them at different places and wondered why I didn´t put them on the old site. Just have a look at the "Lost Pics"
